Matthew Wigdahl

Miki Holbeck and Matt Wigdahl worked together for four years as educators. Miki was a Literacy Coordinator and Matt was a 3rd Grade teacher. They collaborated on many projects to share their love of reading with their students.
One of the projects they worked together extensively on was a children's book club process. As part of this process, students were allowed to choose books that interested them, (within a predetermined ability level range)
We believe the key to successful student book discussion is in the teacher being fully immersed in children's literature; also, in scaffolding processes that build students' independence and maturity for high level critical thought and comprehension.
